British Fires vs Mayfair Fires — 2025 Comparison

British Fires makes excellent products. They're a well-established UK manufacturer with a strong reputation. But there are some significant differences in how their fires compare to Mayfair Fires — differences that matter to most homeowners.

Where British Fires Excels

We believe in honest comparisons. British Fires are a respected UK manufacturer with genuine design quality, particularly in their New Forest range. Their flame realism and build quality are excellent. If you want a product made in Britain with a strong retail presence, British Fires is worth considering.

Where Mayfair Fires Has the Clear Advantage

The core advantage Mayfair Fires holds is simple: we can take you from no media wall to a finished, installed room with a panoramic fire and joinery — with one call and a £100 deposit. British Fires cannot do that. They manufacture fires and sell them through showrooms. What happens after that is entirely your problem.

The heating technology difference is also significant. PTC ceramic heating genuinely does cost less to run. The saving of approximately £145 per winter is real and measurable — not a marketing claim.

And the pricing — without showroom margins, without trade mark-ups, without a sales floor to maintain — Mayfair can offer the same panoramic 3-sided fire with black mirror glass, free deluxe logs, and full installation support at roughly half the showroom equivalent price.
