Common Questions

Media Wall FAQs for York

Are electric fires suitable for York period properties? +
Yes — and they're often preferred. No gas supply or flue required. No structural alterations beyond the media wall recess. Electric fires work particularly well in Georgian and Victorian properties where open fireplaces have been blocked.
Do you cover rural North Yorkshire? +
Yes, we cover YO postcodes throughout York city and surrounding villages including Strensall, Haxby, Skelton, Fulford and Huntington.
What is the lead time for York installations? +
Typically 2–3 weeks. York is about 45 minutes from our Bradford base, so we can schedule efficiently.
Is the fire safe to use in a rented property? +
Yes. Electric fires require standard 13A sockets, no gas certification and no annual service. Many York landlords choose Mayfair fires for rental properties.
